protection for dry ends and fresh roots
Reverse Washing
What is Reverse Washing?
Reverse Washing is an innovative haircare technique especially suitable if your roots tend to get oily quickly while your lengths and ends feel dry. Instead of using shampoo and conditioner in the usual order, the steps are reversed – for a more balanced result.
With Reverse Washing, conditioner is applied first and shampoo second. This reversed routine helps protect the lengths while keeping the roots light and fresh.
The result: a clean, fresh scalp and cared-for ends.
Who is Reverse Washing for?
- quickly oily roots
- dry or stressed lengths and ends
- fine to normal hair that tends to feel weighed down
The result
- fresh, lightweight roots
- protected, cared-for ends
- less dryness in the lengths
Reverse Washing with Ortica Shampoo and Conditioner brings care and freshness into harmony –for hair that feels light and looks well cared for.

Step 1
Care with Ortica Conditioner
The Ortica Conditioner is applied first to the lengths and ends. It coats the hair, provides care, and helps make dry areas feel softer – without weighing the hair down.
It is not rinsed out at this stage, as step 2 follows directly.

Step 2:
Cleanse with Ortica Shampoo
In the second step, the Ortica Shampoo is applied only to the roots and scalp. It thoroughly cleanses the scalp, removes excess oil, and leaves a fresh, lightweight feeling.
The previously applied conditioner in the lengths remains in place, helping to protect the hair from drying out.

Final rinse
After step 2, everything is rinsed out together in one go.
